Michael is a Solutions Engineer at Qloo, working closely across Sales, Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Success to translate Qloo’s powerful Taste AI™ technology into business impact. In just six months, he’s helped build repeatable technical sales processes, supported clients in integrating Qloo into their data ecosystems, and collaborated with internal teams to create valuable technical resources. With dual degrees in Computer Science and Statistics & Analytics from UNC Chapel Hill, Michael brings a unique blend of technical depth and business acumen to every project.
Tell us about why you decided to join Qloo.
Qloo’s unique, privacy-first approach to taste intelligence immediately stood out to me as a true differentiator in the field. I was also excited by the opportunity to be the company’s first Solutions Engineer, shaping how we connect Qloo’s technology to client needs through demo workflows and technical storytelling. On top of that, I was floored by the intelligence and warmth of the team. It was clear right away that this was a special community.
How would you describe your role at Qloo to someone outside the tech world?
Simply put, I bridge the gap between business and engineering. That means explaining how our technology works to business leaders in ways that make sense to them and getting into the technical details with engineers. It’s a role that mixes relationship-building with the hands-on problem solving of an engineer.
What’s a moment or project at Qloo that made you feel especially proud of your work?
As a musician, getting to work with entertainment and media companies is particularly rewarding. Helping them support their artists while strengthening their connection to fans is an extremely gratifying task!
What are you currently working on that gets you excited to open your laptop?
Getting to help customers through unique solution architecture is one of the most exciting parts of the job. I get to solve problems by assembling different technical puzzle pieces and then collaborate with clients to walk through the solution, understand their needs, and keep iterating.
How would you describe the culture at Qloo in three words—and why those?
Friendly, inclusive, innovative. The people here are genuinely great to work with—curious, thoughtful, and always pushing the technology forward with their vision. That energy makes a big difference in the day-to-day.
What’s a hidden talent or unexpected skill you bring to the team?
I listen to a lot of new music, read voraciously, and am a regular at the movie theaters you’d expect in Manhattan (not to discredit the strange and wonderful programming at Spectacle in Williamsburg). At most tech companies, those interests are just good for small talk. At Qloo, they actually come in handy. Our clients span so many cultural industries that these interests become a real asset.
